Notice of Competition for 2015 Fellowships
Baroque Civilization and the notions of “Historia”
The Fellowship Program on the Age and the Culture of Baroque aims to promote innovative research in this area of humanities and to support career opportunities for young scholars in academic and cultural institutions. The theme of research proposals for the 2015 competition is:
Baroque Civilization and the notions of “Historia”
A new reflection on History and its documentary vestiges and sources characterized literary, theatrical, musical, artistic, architectural expressions as well as philosophical, historical, political and scientific thinking in the 17th and the first half of the 18th Century.
This new cultural sensitivity created new conceptual frameworks through which history was observed, interrogated, and used. These efforts gave birth to original strategies of cultural elaboration, some aiming at innovation, others promoting conformity and normalization.
Applicants are asked to explore specific subjects within this ample cultural environment, with reference to the Italian scene and, if relevant, adopting a comparative perspective.
Application deadline 15 July 2015 , 24:00 (CEST) – CLOSED
